"I was passing through Taunton today and popped in for lunch (or the all-day vegi breakfast to be precise). It was superb - freshly-cooked and very tasty. I wish there were more cafes around like this."

"My wife and I visited Roots because we noticed it offered a vegan dish - vegetable stew. The stew was dreary, just boiled vegetables, with no beans or other protein ingredient. We could have made a tastier stew at home. The bread was initially served with butter, and we had to ask for vegan margarine, which we would have expected to be provided with automatically as the dish was labelled vegan. A disappointing visit and we will not be returning. You are welcome to pass on our comments to the cafe."

"I've been here a few times now, can't say I've had any problems ordering food - tried the vegi spag bol which was ok. Unfortunately they have messed up our drinks though, giving us cow's milk when we asked for soya - I will watch them very carefully if I order drinks again!"

"i have been to this establishment a couple of times now and yes they advertise vegan and veggie food but just try and order it, i have yet to be succesful and the one time i did manage to get a vegi burger it was like biting into runny mashed potato and the wedges were really greasy too, i have heard from other people that they have also struggled to get a meal. i for one will not be returning and will in no way recommend this venue to anyone wanting good food. My advice, steer clear."
